National Survivor Volunteer Network (NSVN)
WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH!
SPOHNC’s “National Survivors Volunteer Network” has been serving patients, caregivers and their families since 2004, bringing them the opportunity to share diagnosis and treatment experiences with “someone who has walked in their shoes.” The network consists of volunteers who have had oral and head and neck cancer. This unique matching service pairs volunteers who have gone through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery with patients or family members who are just beginning their journey, or now recovering from side effects of cancer or its treatment.
Patients and volunteers are matched by diagnosis and treatment. Survivors of oral and head and neck cancer are encouraged to become volunteers if they are more than one year out of treatment. Caregivers are also invited to participate. Many people feel a desire to "give back" after surviving oral and head and neck cancer. We invite you to share the wisdom you have gained from your personal journey. For more information on volunteering, read on...
