Once again, SPOHNC received many new recipes from survivors, caregivers, friends and healthcare professionals, as well as chefs who provided their culinary expertise for Taste Events. Additional tips and suggestions are included along with a chapter entirely devoted to fortified foods. This volume features Jan Lewin, PhD, FRS-S, University of Texas, MD Anderson Center and her introductory article concerning "Swallowing Function and Preservation in Treated Head and Neck Cancer Survivors," and Natalie Mason, MS, RD/LD, oncology dietitian, Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX, who wrote "Nutrition for Oral , Head and Neck Cancer Survivors".
Volume 1 published in 2005 is full of recipes and information about eating, getting proper nourishment, coping with swallowing challenges, and much more. With over 200 pages in a decorative hard cover binding, there are over 270 recipes, with nutritional information, contributed by cancer survivors, caregivers, friends and health care professionals. This resource was written especially for individuals with eating challenges.
